Couldn't wait to get it if this place.. Awful from beginning to end, service was slow even though there were only 2 others tables filled in the place. Food was not very good, not fresh... Parking was very limited as well. Pizza was way too cheesy, but could just be a personal preference thing, mozzarella sticks were average. Buffalo wings were the only decent things we had.

It's def good bar & grille food! Actually it's better than that. I wasn't too fond of the burgers. I'm a cheeseburger junkie and pretty picky about them. But they have these steak tips with Gorgonzola on mashed potatoes that is ridiculous!! Sooo good. I forgot the name of the dish. I will update next time I go. That alone made me come back.

Rather average, nothing that is going to knock your socks off but nothing that will drive you running to the bathroom.

I really wanted to love this place, because my friends and I go almost every week for Trivia Night, but the food is really mediocre. I had the buffalo chicken sandwich, and could barely taste the buffalo sauce (I had it without the blue cheese - maybe they use that to disguise the lack of spiciness?). I also tried the chicken parmesan with penne and the whole thing was overcooked. The chicken was super dry and difficult to cut, and the penne was soggy and limp (I like mine al dente). Even the garlic breadsticks are dry and flavorless. I get the sense everything they make there starts out in individual packets in an industrial freezer. It's really disappointing. I'm a fresh ingredients girl! Then again, Mozzarella's is a chain. So that might explain it. Still tragic.

Good for drinks and appetizers maybe some sandwiches but most of the meals i have been dissapointed in.And don't order a veal parmesean sandwich tho it was good it was 14$ i don't know if she charged me for the meal by accident but not worth 14 $.And some of the servers don't seem to care and it shows everything seems to be a hassle for some.

They moved to the old Bickford's / Ice House building on Mineral Spring. They also have a NEW NAME! Fitzy's Pub & Family Restaurant! They still have the same menu. They migrate like flocks of geese and move everywhere. Who knows, where they could be next. I recommend the Chicken Parmigiana and the chocolate cake! Very Italiano! Badda Bing, Badda BOOM! AYYYYYYY!!!

Great pizza. Had a Buffalo pizza and Spinach Florentine pizza. Both cheesy and the crust was good and crunchy. Also our waitress was extremely nice and attentive. Would go her for pizza and other stuff.in their menu

I've come here a few times. The service is always decent. They greet, seat , and serve you quickly which is nice. The place has a Local feel to it although it's a chain. We needed a quick dinner this evening so decided on some salad with chicken on it and the family style all you can eat Chicken. The salad was tasty it had corn and beans and an avocado dressing. The chicken was very well seasoned also. My dad had the family style aka all you can eat salad bread and pasta. He was happy with his food too. It was good solid food but nothing remarkable. It's definetly a great place to get a quick meal that taste decent especially if you have kids since they seemed to be very kid friendly.

For the location, I was impressed with the amount of parking that was available for this restaurant. That was about the end of my good impression. The service was mediocre at best. The waitresses didn't really smile much or seem knowledgeable of the menu options. I just had ordered water for my lunch and I had to practically flag someone over for a refill. I feel like if it was a beer or other drink they would have been happy to ensure I was properly hydrated. The food was pretty standard bar fare. I had the grilled chicken salad and the lettuce was not very crisp or fresh. The chicken was cooked okay though, and the croutons.. well, croutons are stale bread, I don't think they could have messed those up if they had tried. I thought about ordering some mozzarella sticks (I mean, it's in the name, right?) $8.99 for an order?! Are they breaded in gold dusted bread crumbs? In all seriousness, even for my salad, it was overpriced. I do not mind paying money for great food and service but I had neither and still paid like I had. I don't think I'd ever be interested in visiting this place again.

Food there is absolutely boring and below average for a regular diner. They make you wait forever (more than half an hour) for your ordinary entrees that could be cooked within 10 minutes. Very disappointed!

New location in a place with a long series of resturaunt failures. Food remains average and the servers, although pleasant, can't make up for how long it takes to get your food. 25 minutes to make salad and a sandwich? On a slow night? Also avoid the chicken zinger appetizer! It's 7 bucks for the equivalent of chicken mc nuggets. If you want everything to be average this is the place to go!

Oily food, a gallon of oil in everything from steak to my haddock, seriously in bad mood, never again.

I usually go to the East Greenwich location but was in the area and decided to try this location. Despite all the bad reviews, I had a good meal and so did my friend. I had my usual chicken parm and it was great. Our server was friendly and attentive. I guess I must always catch them on a good day??

I frequent this place often since I live down the street. The food is acceptable for a chain restaurant. My first meal was the gorgonzola steak tips which was acceptable but appeared to be drowning in sauce. Since then I have stuck to the wraps and sandwiches which I enjoy. My go to options are the buffalo chicken sandwich and the chicken caesar wrap. Both are served warm which is important. Their curly fries are really good and I can't even think of another local restaurant that has curly fries, never mind ones that are better. The service can be hot or cold. The young boys that usually take take out orders are fantastic; polite, have attention to detail, and are very friendly. The other day I called an order in and wasn't sure if they hired someone new or if it was the bar tender but a woman who picked up the food got my order wrong twice after I repeated it to her. She also asked me how to spell "Tim". Their cocktails are standard and they have a large bar with drinks that are reasonably priced. Anyways I will still go here for wraps and sandwiches knowing the service can be hot or cold but I will stay away from the entrees in the future.

I can't really pinpoint what made my experience most recently any worse than the others but it was. Ignored, mediocre at best food and a dirty table. I really wish my friend would stop making me go here.

yeah they moved back down Mineral Spring Ave again almost near where they used to be....you can change the name but you really need to change the food.....can't fool us.

Decent food but over priced for what it is. Kind of chain feel and prices. No real complaints just feels like an Italian applebees or chili's

This place used to be one of my favorite place before they moved. After they moved in into the new place it went downhill The service needs overhaul Waitstaff is always slow and non attentive. I frequent this place less and less because of service It's too bad cuz food is usually consistent.

Came here on a whim. Won't be returning that's for sure. The place was empty on a Thursday night at dinner time, that was a pretty bad sign right there. As another reviewer said, the staff isn't very enthusiastic and you can tell they hate their jobs (can't blame them, no customers, no tips). Everyone in my party ordered something different and didn't like it. I ordered a burger. Why did I do that!? It was flavorless meat, no seasonings. Cold canned mushrooms on top. Woke up at 1am that night with the worst stomach ache of my life. I'll spare the details. Do your self a favor and go somewhere else.

My boyfriend and I went here for dinner last night, 6/29/14. The place was not very busy, maybe 3 or 4 other tables in the entire place, so we were seated very quickly. The waitress took our order and then we did not see her for at least 30 minutes. Not once did she stop by our table to check on our drinks, or tell us our food would be out shortly, nothing. My boyfriend ordered a salad as an appetizer and she brought the salad out WITH the meal. The food was absolutely inedible. I ordered fettucini alfredo with shrimp and the meal came out more oil than alfredo sauce and did not taste good. After eating 3 pieces of shrimp while waiting for the waitress to come back, I politely told her I would like to send my meal back because it was not good and I did not want to try anything else. She was very apologetic and had to get her manager to come over in order to take the meal off the bill. The manager came over and said she could take some of the meal off but because I ate some shrimp she would have to charge me for it. I was absolutely stunned at this. I would think that in order to make a customer happy and willing to give the restaurant another chance, the manager would apologize about the meal and take the entire thing off, rather than try to save 2.99! My boyfriend's dish was no better. He ordered the steak tips which were supposed to come with caramelized onions and gorgonzola cheese and came out swimming in a rancid white nacho cheese sauce. The steak itself tasted as if the surface it was cooked on has never been cleaned. The food was terrible and the service was even worse, we will not be going back.

the food was good.slightly overpriced could stand to knock a buck off most things.also when i went there were 2 other tables of 2 and a couple of people at the bar and it was a good half hour to get my food and the waitress didnt seem to wanna be there.

Have come here a few times when I needed to kill some time and grab a bite to eat. Didn't really feel like an Italian restaurant, so don't go here if you're expecting that. Regardless, great place overall. Friendly staff, and good food and drinks! I typically get the BBQ Roast Beef Bomb or something like that with curly fries - it's REALLY good!! Cheap draft beer and interestingly alcoholic mixed drinks. :)

I went in for the first (and only) time a few days ago. I ordered the Calamari Italiano. It was fishy, overdressed, and had a French Fry in it. I took one bite and set it aside. Sara, my waitress, asked why I was displeased. After I told her, she immediately apologized and asked what she could do to help. I told her to stop the rest of my order and give me the bill for the calamari and my wine. She insisted that I NOT pay for anything, and she was incredibly polite. I don't have much faith in the kitchen, but I was impressed by my waitress. I doubt I'll go in again, but I wish her all the best.

We go out to eat prbly twice a week. Always looking for new places so finally went here. Made me sign up for YELP just to write a review on how awful the place was.. My daughters pizza came out RAW... The tomato sauce was worse than out of a jar. The roll for my sandwich tasted like wonder bread..Service was not good either.. Had to ask twice for 2 different things.. Just go somewhere else.. anywhere else is better!!

Clean place, staff is ok, you can tell they hate their jobs. Food is pretty bad, no frills, worst fries. I barely ate anything and I was starving. Going across the street to NY System.

I was really hoping to like this place since we live just around the corner but no such luck. Food is what you expect, fairly average for a chain bar but the service was horrendous. Bartender ignored us for ten minutes and when our food took too long she chose to pretend we weren't there instead of acknowledging and apologizing. Appetizer took too long to come out then we waited 45 minutes for our so-so dinners. Fun drinks and atmosphere but a little pricey considering the area. Disappointing all around.

  • Chris R.

Not worth your time. Limited parking, poor service host seating people at tables before cleaned. Then states we're out of menus it's going to be a while. That should have been enough but gave them a chance. After 10 minutes of servers walking by doing nothing and hanging towards the back not even asking if they can get drinks it was time to leave.

Delicious! We started going to Mozzarella's as a family when they were at their other location on Mineral Spring (the old Ponderosa) We were weekly customers, always finding something good on their menu to eat. We stopped going for a bit.. the food was a little different but we couldn't put our finger on it.. Next thing we knew they were moving!! With hesitation.. we ventured into their NEW establishment, hoping that the move made a difference in their food. To my surprise.. they are just as good as when they opened years earlier! I tried their spinach salad with balsamic dressing.. Amazing! Can I just say.. I'd buy their dressing by the gallon! Their french fries were back to their yummy circular selves. I really enjoy their variety of pizzas. Yes you have to wait about 20 minutes for them but they are totally worth it. My favorite pizza is the Spinach Florentine. Since they've moved the service has improved, the waitstaff is attentive and friendly. Their mixed drinks are tasty and at reasonable prices... I'll be going back to eat at Mozzarella's soon and I suggest you do the same! I tend to go around lunch or early dinner time. Mangia!! NiNi M.

Don't go here expecting real Italian food. It's more like the Olive Garden which to any Italian, is completely disgusting. Bland bland bland...

Although the atmosphere and service are 4 stars, I'm sad to say that the mediocrity of the food here keeps my review stuck at 3 stars. Our waitress was genuinely friendly and had a good sense of humor. The atmosphere is perfect for a fun, drunken night out with friends. Their well margaritas are only 4 effing dollars! The Olive Garden-esque breadsticks, fried ravioli, and my buffalo chicken sandwich weren't bad... it's just that they reminded me of the food at my university's cafeteria. I seem to remember thinking this place was better when I first went here years ago when they were at their old location, but I guess either I was wrong or they've gone downhill... Also, I don't get why they moved from such a big, spacious lot to this cramped one with a very narrow parking lot. On a Saturday night it was completely full. In any case, I guess I'd be willing to come back here, but I won't be the one to suggest it. Unless it was just for those exquisitely cheap margaritas and I wasn't driving...

Sorry guys but you have some work to do. Was here a few months ago. Actually my friend is the manager.Went there to visit him but he wasnt working until 5pm and we came at 12ish pm. Its not that good. Our waitress was on time but didnt really know what was going on. Bar server was out to lunch. I heard she may be a family member of owners Talking about sex behind the bar, didnt even know I was standing there calling for her for over 5 minutes to put in a keno ticket...Horrible! the food was under average and I just think it wasnt that good. My advice. Needs a better menu a little more updated to contemp, servers need better training, release the barmaid and put some wedges under your tables so they dont weeble wobble the whole time. Not enjoyable....

The location isnt great but once your in you forget where you are for awhile and can enjoy good service and good food at a good price. I love the $2.00 beers and tallboys, chicken fingers, pizza, and nachos are all very good. It is a bit small, and does have a bit of a chain feel too it but that's not necessarily a bad thing. Have been there many times and will continue to go on occasion.

Ugh, I haven't wanted to even leave a review for this place because I don't have anything nice to say. The food is just plain bland, and they can call themselves Mozzarella's, but there's nothing Italian about this place and could be compared to your average chain that should have gone under years ago, like the Ground Round. Or Ponderosa. With that said, I'd only eat here again if I was 95 and all of my tastebuds were worn off. All I can say is that the food is "soggy". The salad was soggy and so was my chicken parm sandwhich. The only redeeming quality about this place are their Irish-style fries. You know, the chips that aren't really chips, they're little discs of potatoes. Yum. Still though, one star because I left angry at myself for spending money here.

They have a balsamic calamari dish that I think about on a semi-hourly basis. I don't even know the name of it, I just point at the menu and drool. Nothing fancy, just really tasty. The rest of the food we've tried has been pretty good as well and the waitresses are always pleasant. It's a good place for a casual night out where you don't feel like getting all dolled up and spending a ton of money. My husband and I went around the holidays and they were having a holiday party in the bar area. There was a one man band playing songs and being cheesy, at first it was loud and annoying but we found ourselves singing along in between snickers and bites. Good times. Balsamic calamari, high five!

I tried this place recently and was not disappointed. I'd seen some restaurant photos online prior to going and thought it looked pretty sketchy but the restaurant is kept very clean. If you look around you can find their menu online you're pretty much going to get what you expect. They have several TVs set up around if you like to go and watch and feed your face, you can. Service was excellent, very friendly and would definitely go back again.

Stopped in with a pal for lunch...service was good at the bar, and popcorn was offered to us. The turkey melt had a nice amount of turkey but was a little dry...not a big deal...just not 5 stars for what the food should be...any place that serves "cheater pints" get a star taken off. (Cheater pints are glasses that hold 14 oz instead of 16) although at least they ask if you'd like medium or large, not pints...still -1. Overall an ok experience.

This place was great! Stopped in here Sunday night and the service was good. We ordered the Barbecue Chicken Pizza and shared a Garden Salad. Can you say awesome! Normally when you get a salad it's just a salad, but the lettuce was crisp and fresh. I actually made that comment to my boyfriend as we ate the salad. Then we get the pizza, OMG! Phenomenal!! Let's just say we finished the pizza. All eight slices and it was worth every calorie . =) Definitely try the barbecue pizza.

Mozzarella's recently moved from a large green building that used to be a ponderosa on Mineral Spring, to a smaller updated building, a little further down on Mineral Spring. I was hesitant to try it again, because at their first location, I did not enjoy any aspect of their business. Since they moved, the food seems better, perhaps they changed the menu a bit. The staff is great. We usually sit at the bar and even though we are surrounded by all the regulars who already know each other, we are never uncomfortable. They are not rowdy...they are a fun bunch! I always get a cheese pizza and fries, and my husband usually gets a burger, or a sandwich & fries. Their pizza is delicious...crunchy crust...perfect amounts of sauce and cheese. And the fries are always cooked to perfection. Prices are great! for our last trip there, my husband had 3 beers, a burger & fries, and i had the pizza, fries and a soda, and the total bill came to $26.00 It's great that we can afford to eat here often~!!

Italian Cuisine

The immense popularity of Italian cuisine globally isn't unknown. You can find an Italian Pizzeria around every corner of almost every city in the United States. Not to forget that in every house, people enjoy mac and cheese as comfort food. But it would be wrong to believe that Italian food starts with pizza and ends with good pasta as this Mediterranean country has much more to offer other than these two dishes. In Italian Cuisine, there is a high use of fresh tomatoes, all kinds of herbs, great quality of cheese, all types of meat, seafood and fresh handmade pasta. Many find it hard to believe that Italians have been making noodles long back.

Italian and Greek cuisines are always mistaken to be same, but they are poles apart. The primary difference between the two cuisines is the use of cheese in most of the Italian dishes. Italians love to cultivate their own cheese and process them as per their food requirement. It is believed that some cheese is so expensive that cheese producers secure them in lockers.

If you are bored eating the same old pasta or pizza, you can try some of the authentic Italian dishes like Risotto, Polenta, Ribollita, Lasagna, Fiorentina Steak, Bottarga, Ossobuco, Carbonara, Focaccia, Arancini and Supplì. Another item which Italians love to relish every morning is a good cup of Italian Coffee. Once you taste a freshly brewed cup of Italian Coffee, you might not visit Starbucks ever again. Authentic Italian food is made with heart and soul, so go find a restaurant where you can relish Italian cuisine in your city.
